The BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology Alumni Association has officially finalized the “BUFTian Reunion 2023,” a reunion event for graduates who are currently employed in the RMG industry. The ceremony was held on February 21, 2023, at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), and almost 1500 alumni from across the world participated.
The goal of the BUFTian Reunion 2023 is to bring together the alumni community to reconnect, network, and share their experiences working in the RMG sector, in order to overcome upcoming challenges and establish sustainable and strategic RMG businesses. The event provides valuable opportunities for professional development and networking among graduates. The alumni of BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology, formerly known as BIFT, have significantly contributed to the expansion of the RMG industry by creating a strong mid-level managerial workforce. These highly skilled and experienced individuals have come together on this platform to collaborate and continue their contributions to the growth of the RMG industry in Bangladesh.
The BUFTian Reunion 2023, commenced with a Quran recitation and the National anthem in honor of International Mother Language Day. As a mark of respect, all alumni stood in silence for one minute before the group photo session began. Every batch took turns to come up on stage and capture the moment with exuberance and joy.
Vice Chancellor of BUFT Prof. Dr. S.M. Mahfuzur Rahman inaugurated the launch of the souvenir magazine of “BUFTian Reunion 2023.” The magazine captured the essence of the reunion, highlighting the various events, guest speakers, and achievements of the alumni. The launch was a proud moment for the organizers, who put in a lot of effort to make the reunion a grand success.
The souvenir magazine will serve as a lasting memory of the reunion for the attendees, reminding them of the valuable experiences and connections they made during the event. It will also inspire future alumni to participate in upcoming reunions and contribute to the growth and success of their alma mater.
The students of BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) recently presented a stunning fashion show, leaving the audience mesmerized. The program, which showcased the creativity and talent of the students, was sponsored by some leading names in the fashion industry, including Centro, Liz Fashion, Runway Fashion Private Limited, and Hannan Group.
While the sponsored clothing impressed the audience with their unique designs and styles, the highlight of the show was the original designs made by the students themselves. These designs were not only innovative but also displayed the exceptional skills and creativity of the students of BUFT.
The event was attended by several distinguished guests, including Md. Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, MP, who serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at BUFT. Also present were Md. Moshiul Azam (Shajal) and Mohammed Nasir, who are both Members of the Board of Trustees at BUFT.
The event was also graced by the presence of the Vice Chancellor of BUFT, Prof. Dr. S.M. Mahfuzur Rahman, and Prof. Pro Vice Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, who is a well-respected figure in the field of engineering. Additionally, the Registrar, Director of Students Welfare, and senior teachers of BUFT also attended the event.
The BUFTian Reunion 2023 was officially launched through a cake-cutting ceremony, which was led by Md. Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, MP. The event was marked by his inspiring speech, which set the tone for the occasion.
The BUFT Alumni Association organized a traditional dance segment, which saw an impressive performance by both students and alumni of the Association. The captivating performance proved to be a major highlight of the event, leaving the alumni and guests in awe.
The crowd was enthralled by the beautiful movements and traditional dance techniques, which highlighted Bangladesh’s rich cultural history.With their remarkable talent and talents, the talented performers casually escorted the audience to a different planet.
The highlight of the event was the solo song performance by “BUFT Forever” and bands from BUFT Alumni and running students, who mesmerized the audience with their renditions of Folk, Pop, and Band songs. The event was a huge success, with a large number of alumni attending the program till the end, as it was so enjoyable and full of activities.
The most important motto of this program was to promote BUFTian, so each and every segment of this program was arranged by BUFTian and BUFT Alumni Association promoted their alumni at event, photography, cultural events and each and every segment. Although it was an expensive program, BUFTAA didn’t encouraged to bring any renowned band, rather they promoted their own bands. The BUFTian Reunion 2023 was a testament to the strength of the BUFT alumni community and its commitment to promoting the growth and development of the RMG industry in Bangladesh.
